"Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve.
You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.
You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…
You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve.
You only need a heart full of grace.
A soul generated by love.”

Martin Luther King, Jr.

SCC Needs Volunteer Drivers and Office Staff

The Shepherd's Center of Chesterfield has an urgent need for volunteer drivers to transport seniors to medical appointments and the grocery store, and for phone receptionists to receive calls and schedule rides. Receptionists would work from the Shepherd's Center office at 6800 Lucy Corr Blvd. Areas in need of drivers include Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Chester, Hopewell and Prince George.

Can you help by offering a few hours to either provide or arrange a ride?

Without new volunteer drivers, our clients will be placed on a waiting list for their critical medical and grocery shopping transportation needs. You can make a difference in the community by volunteering only a couple of hours a month!

The Shepherds Center of Chesterfield, a non-profit inter-faith organization, offers free, accompanied transportation, in-home handyman services, and low-cost classes to adults over 50.

Become a part of this close-knit volunteer community;  you may need their help someday, too! Call The Shepherds Center of Chesterfield at (804) 706-6689 or submit a Volunteer Interest Form now.

  Office Volunteers

Volunteers are the heart of the Shepherd's Center of Chesterfield !

The office staff are volunteers. The folks that are the drivers for the Transportation service are volunteers.  The Handy Hands folks that provide light maintenance service are volunteers.  The folks providing the Grocery Shopping service are volunteers.  The teachers in the Adventures in Learning program are volunteers.  The master chefs that cook the lunches are volunteers.  The Board of Directors are volunteers.  The various committees are made up of volunteers.  The Chester Baptist Church provides the Adventures in Learning classroom, kitchen and lunch room facilities. Volunteers are the heart of the Shepherd's Center of Chesterfield!

People Helping People

The Shepherd's Center of Chesterfield needs your help.  You might like to volunteer to serve on a committee, work in the office, help with lunches or be a driver. You will find the experience of volunteering to be as rewarding and enjoyable to you, as the service you are providing is appreciated and welcomed by those you are serving.

By our service, we all benefit!

Please call the office at (804) 706-6689 and talk with the staff about the opportunities to volunteer or send us an Email or click here to complete a Volunteer Information Form.
